Unhappy Mail by Google (data connection) - 03-26-2007, 12:56 PM

I have succesfully installed the Mail by Google application for my google hosted e-mail. However, I get the following error when trying to access my e-mail:

"This program requires a data connections and some BlackBerry devices
require reconfiguration to work properly."

Google maps mobile works just fine. Just like other 3rd party apps.

I have searched on this forum and other websites for the solution but I cannot find it. I already changed the language settings to US English. I am on BES.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Yes I did. Without any success.

I assumed that this option could be left blank since I am on BES and that the APN is only needed for BIS. Is my assumption correct?

Any other thoughts?

Who is your provider? I noticed reading other posts regarding this problem that those encountering this problem are on the Cingular network. Anyway, see if this posting helps....

Thanks. I am with KPN in The Netherlands (BES). From what I understand there may be two different internet services (at least with Cingular). My blackberry 8700 has the "internet browser" icon, which is the BB service I think. Therefore I am afraid this this solution will not work for me.
