Default BBToday will not go away! IT restriction to not DELETE? - 03-30-2007, 08:54 PM

I just installed BBToday (nice program idea, darn thing locks my 7130e every time I use it) I went to uninstall it and the device gave me the following Error message:

Unable to remove BBToday. It is required by IT policy application control.

Does that mean that my BES admin has set my BB so that I can install items, but not DELETE them?

I'm confused....any help appreciated.

No, your BES admin probably set up a policy to push out the 2007 DST update. In doing so there is an option in the policy that is set by default. That option causes the unability to uninstall applications. I worked with my BES admin and now its fixed. I don't know what the option was though, sorry, maybe someone else here will know.

You can always do the deletion from your desktop even if you get that IT policy error.

I tried to remove these items with DM, I got the same error message...... I'm just destined to be tortured with faulty software

If its in the policy (which it is), you cannot remove it from the DM. You'll have to have your BES admin adjust the policy.

I had the same thing and yes you can remove it...

Go to the modules then delete it from there, after that go back to the main application menu and try to delete again and you will be able to remove it..

its strange b/c the IT policy locked out deleting of applications but when you go into the modules you can delete and after you delete the module you delete the application...

Thanks for the option, but no luck. Still got the same message about the IT policy. I"m thinking it's time for a full OS wipe and EA activation (AGAIN!)
