Default DocHawk or Repligo

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

We're thinking of purchasing either DocHawk or Repligo server side software to improve our BB attachment viewing. I will be trialling the products out but just need an idea on which product is better. Any recommendations, we have about 500 BB users so we want to make the best possible choice.

Thanks

Fred

Wow, 500 users. I have used Repligo as a test and it was good. Never used DocHawk so can't comment on it.
Currently I am using the beta release of BeamBerry, and really do like it-view, save to server, print. But like I said its in beta but you should contact the maker and see what you could work out...

Do you consider just viewing attachments? How about editing them?

having tried most of them, here's my humble opinion.

for sheer viewing - repligo is the best for sheer viewing pleasure and flexibility and speed. for instance, you can switch between graphical and text displays of pdfs, and their online storage system works well. highly recommended.

dynoplex - i use them, but not for viewing. their servers are not that reliable, and their rendering neither. but of course, they are pretty much the only game in town right now for word and excel editing, and they do seem to be giving their programs a facelift right now, so here's hoping.

dockhawk, works well, but i don't think quite as good repligo and has slightly less features that work for me despite advertising more. still, very good.

beamberry - i tried it when it was earlier beta, so maybe improving.

We just got version 4 of eOffice out with much improved attachment handling and a new viewer ViewAll. Give it a try, as it integrates both viewing and editing, but you can also get viewer only.

thank you Sergey, I will try it out shortly. with Repligo, with pdf files, you can switch between a graphical overview and scrolling using the trackball, or you can also go to a read command, which fits the text to the screen in a readable size. is this feature now available or will it be available for dynoplex.

For viewing, I use RepliGo. Because of it, I rely less on my laptop to view attachments.

Ok tried it Sergey. And I do want to like it. I like the idea of the integrated editor and viewer. But compared to Repligo, it still isn't quite as good in terms of viewing capacity (not that Repligo doesn't have to make some improvements as well.) Also, it's much s-l-o-w-e-r. The delays in connecting to the server, reading the data etc, is excruciating - if I'm at a meeting and want to look at a document quickly, I couldn't depend on this.
Hope this feedback is valuable in improving your service.

Could you make any specific recommendation on what would you like to improve in terms of a view?

Do you try to open the same file as with Repligo? How big is this file?
