Nextel gave us a new HTML browser today so all the folks who have registered for the requireless have wasted their money.

i wouldn't be so negative.
rewireless can do some things the nextel one can't, and browses some sites nextel just can't, and vice versa. it's also MUCH faster, generally.

well what is this html browser, is it different than the ones rogers provides for instance? if so, can it be installed on other blackberries?
i somehow doubt this is the case.
blake, if your'e talking about the same browser that i've been using on rogers or on bes, than i don't know how you could think it's much faster than the req browser. the standard html browser can log into some sites the req can't, and has some advantages, but speed is very very rarely one of them in my experience. if nextel is indeed offering some kind of tweaked super browser, that would be news to me, i thought they were simply offering what everyone else already had.

Not sure about that its not the Blackberry Browser that comes with BES, So far I havent had a site I cant go into yet. Paypal ebay FTP sites have all worked. I can say that I had the requirless and this one is much faster in my opinion. Wasnt trying to be negative, just saying the folks who bought requireless last week should have waited like all the threads said.

You might think that until you try to use the Nextel HTML Browser while on a phone call. It's no go, it won't talk to the network until you hang up. REQWireless on the other hand uses direct TCP/IP so it works at any time. It's not a huge issue but one I ran into yesterday that can sometimes be a problem.

When my wife is out somewhere and calls to have me check the bank account it's much easier to do it right then rather than having to call her back. I'm glad I have both.

some more info on the Nextel HTML browser is here

HTML Browser WHO & WHEN [Nextel HTML Web Browser finally working]

I have both because I couldn't wait for the Nextel html to come out, I liked the Reqwireless a lot, I do like the Nextel version better, one major reason is that I now can have Berry 411 use it as the default.

I have logged into and visted everything I can think of with no issue as of yet, has anyone had an issue with the one or the other browser not letting them visit a site?

Well I stand corrected on that, But since I dont multi task like that its not an issue for me. I can see where it might be for others but I am very happy I have a HTML browser I dont have to pay extra for.

I find the blackberry browser to be just as effective and timely as the webviewer
