Unhappy PIM software like Agendus for Palm.....

Please Login to Remove!

why can't someone produce a full featured PIM app for RIM like the ones for Palm?

Check this out -
Agendus for Palm OS Professional Edition - The ultimate personal information manager for Palm, links and enhances Meetings, Tasks, Memos, Contacts, Email, and powerful wireless services

I have lived on the PIM capabilities from Palm and Agendus and really wish my Pearl would have something like this.

That would truly "complete" the picture for me with my RIM device!

Please help me get rid of my Treo !

Any takers out there !

There is a thread on the Iambic forum about getting Agendus ported to the Blackberryy OS. Go jump in with your two cents there, maybe we can get them to expand their offering to the BB.

I used this program for years on the palm.

A similar thread you may want to check out:
Flexwallet for Blackberry Released

A search of "agendus" also brought up alot on the topic:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/sear...archid=2601019

I would love the BB to have a better PIM/ CRM- it is the #1 I think is lacking right now from a business users point of view.

Have you folks tried PocketDay. More PIM functionality is coming, but there are some limitations on the BB. For example, 3rd party apps have no access to categories and some other rather useful bits.

We're doing the best we can with what we have to work with.

We're also open to suggestions...

How about linking contacts to activities (calls,to-dos,meetings) and having the ability to synch that to your PC based PIM- ACT! for an example.

I am a Pocket Day user today, as it is the only thing that is even remotely close to a full fledged PIM enhancement.

What I would really like to see brought in to Pocket Day are some of the following items I had in Agendus for Palm:

> Ability to link contacts to Tasks and Meetings. So that when I open a view for a task it has a hot link that can open up the contact, or allow me to dial, sms, email that contact using the function key.

> Ability to set up Task and Meeting Templates. When you hit the function key one of the options becomes "New Task (or Meeting) from Template", when you select that your existing templates show up in a list and then you select that to make the new meeting or Task.

> Icons to associate to categories of Meetings or Tasks.

Thanks for the suggestions. Some of these (linking contacts to tasks, then dialing, emailing, etc.) already exist in PocketDay Lists.

The problem with the native tasks is that RIM doesn't allow 3rd party apps access to all the fields. We have request them to open it up fully, but it's not happening anytime too soon.

Try PD Lists integrated into PocketDay. You may find some of what you are looking for.

Default Pocket Day

Is this a fairly flexible version? I am looking at downloading it now. I came from Agendus as well and need some scheduling muscle on the BB.

Amen! Yes! These would be great to have in PD.

I agree with you - PD is the closest to better PIM on the BB.

PD list is great too -

Ideas for PD -

1. Icons set - basic (for meetings)
2. Easier editing of items within PD
3. Drag and drop items - rescheduling
4. Pop up calendar for editing/moving items
5. Year view?
6. Linking items - as mentioned - (tasks, contacts)
7. Filters! - by category
8. List of events - i.e. Birthdays

Good work on PD - keep it up

.
Can you explain how this would be accomplished with your products?

I use ACT on my PC synched with BB via Desktop Manager and Companionlink. I would like the ability to create to-dos,calls and meetings with a specific contact and have that synch with ACT.

Can this be done with your products?

Thanks- if it can I will buy right away as that is really missing for me. You can do it with Companionlink but you have to enter a contacts name exactly right in the memo area or it will not work. I want to schedule from the contact view or a drop down list in an activity.

Thanks in Advance!!!

Can I trial Pocket Day lists with Pocket Day Personal version?

I think its a bit steep as a $30 adder to do the things for tasks that I expect a full funciton pim to do.

If I put my tasks into Pocket Day Lists does it sync with Outlook? I really need to have them sync with my exchange server, which is something that Agendus did seemlessly.

Is there any way that you could use special characters in the beginning of the notes field of Tasks and Calendar items to take care of some of the limitations of the BB operating system. This is how Agendus handles association of Icons and other information for synching.

You can trial PD Lists with personal, absolutely. Make sure you have the current versions of both.

I've been contemplating using the notes field, but haven't decided yet on the structure. We're working on PD 5 so the timing is good.

What about syncing the lists with Microsoft Outlook?

Do you want to see a sample note field from any old item I had in Agendus?

More than willing to help in the Beta program and assist in ironing out potential bugs

You said PD lists can accomplish the contact linking that was asked for.

I asked this earlier:

I've been using PD for about 2 weeks now (trial version)....and this is the ONE thing I was wishing it could do.

Have to say that I agree......while I do plan on purchasing PD....and if lists works well will probably buy that....but it would be nice if there was a "bundle price" or package deal.

on a side note, with tasks, how do we set in Outlook and/or BB the default time for tasks?

After syncing, the tasks all get set to 12:00am and are posing issues showing up in the correct day slot!

Anyone else see this happening?

I am using Outlook 2007, Pearl with Pday

pocketday personal is $19.95 and pocketday pro is $34.95. Lists is $19.95 but if you own PD pro then lists is 25% discount or $15.
