Default Connection Lost - 04-25-2008, 09:42 AM

I've tried everything to get around the "connection lost" message. All permissions are set to allow. AT&T 8820 on BES. Is this using socket connections? I could never get Opera Mini to work with sockets.

Any ideas?

Funny how i was just about to say the exact same thing. I actually reinstalled the application couple of times and both times when it first scans for GPS, it shuts down and then restarts, definitely a bug. I have an 8310 on T-Mo.

P.S. It just started back up and tried acquiring GPS and still same issue, it shuts down and restarts. Uninstalling this and sticking to Yahoo! oneSEACH/voice, which i also like.

Confirmed: This application will not work if you are using the Beta OS.

I've read so many good things so decided to give it a try. It sticks at 'Getting GPS' forever and then 'Network busy, try again later'.

Update: Well it finally worked for me. I did a battery pull and it started working...not sure if the reset had anything to do with it or not. It's pretty cool. The GPS works but it keeps loading a different city....not the one I'm in.

The title of this thread makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where Kramer's phone number is one digit off from the movie theater number. George ends up calling the wrong number and getting Kramer and Kramer is trying to sound like the automated movie listing. After George tries keying in the name of the movie and Kramer doesn't know what he keyed in Kramer says, in his best movie computer voice, "Well why don't you just TELL me the name of the movie you'd like to see..."

Hilarious John! I love Seinfeld and remember that episode well. Someone should come up with a joke speech recognition program that does that...lol

Hi, currently Tellme uses a direct connection and is not able to connect through BES - so that's likely why you are experiencing connectivity issues. We're working now on implementing connection through BES, and hope to have that available very soon. We can notify you once this is up and running, just send us an email (Tellme | Say it. Get It.) and we'll add you to our notification list.

Right now Tellme supports the 8310 on AT&T, but not T-Mobile, so that's why you're seeing GPS and connectivity issues. We're hoping to be able to make Tellme available for T-Mobile soon! If you'd like, you can sign up on our website to be notified once we have support for T-Mobile (Tellme | Say it. Get It.).

For anyone with a TMobile Pearl, set your APN to wap.voicestream.com

That worked for me.

We are definitely looking into this and hope to make Tellme available to more locations soon. No hard dates I can provide yet, but please do sign up for notification via our website if you'd like to know when we do add support for outside the US

downloaded for BB8820 (ATT) on tmo network and it works great. look-n-feel is great and has cool feature. i dont have the voice plan so could not check the call feature.
Though: I was holding phone key and coughed and it said "A Bit louder please" looks like built in doctor

Never connects to GPS on my sprint 8830. It may be free but if it doesn't work it's just a waste of time.

I have 4.5 on my 8700r ... seems to make a lot of software for curve and newer bb's work for it even though it shouldnt. In this case I was able to install the APP, but running it makes the phone completely crash
