Default An Auto Text Responder Program for BB? - 06-05-2007, 11:41 PM

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for something like the Autopilot program (Autopilot was made for Symbian phones) for my BlackBerry 8703e. Does anyone know of a program like this?

I had one for my Windows Smartphone too that responded to missed calls with a user defined text message and it's nice.

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks,

Jowe

This sounds like a great idea. Haven't come across anything that fits that description for the BB. Maybe there's a developer out there that would consider this.

yeah, I didn't mention in my earlier post, but I would pay for a good working program like this. If there are any developers that are interested, then I'll be happy to explain in detial the features that I think are nice and that would sell.

i described this to a friend of mine a while ago. i told him i saw it here. after much searching i think i dremed it up....i would also pay for this feature.

Basically it works so that any missed call would trigger the berry to send an sms (even to a land line, many carriers allow this and the carrier reads it to the recipient). i dont want to lose business because of a missed call

Check out blackberry alerts or webmessenger. These packages provide for auto repeat reminders for missed calls plus it has other options and services. Also, I am on Verizon and you can optionally turn on via your voice mail options to have Verizon send a message to your phone. However, with the software packages mentioned I really didn't need that feature given the software provides unlimited repeats until answered. Good Luck!

Those are all good options for getting allerts if you've missed a call, but I'm looking for software that will send a text message to the person that just called but that I missed. I had one for my Windows Mobile phone that did that.

For instance: If I'm in a meeting and someone calls, then after the call is "missed" then my phone would automatically send a text to the person that just called me saying whatever I want. "Sorry I missed your call. I'm in meetings all day today. If you have something that requires immediate attention, then feel free to send me a text message."

Just a perspective, but personally I do not subscribe to text messaging and I would certainly not want to pay for receiving a text message because "you" missed a call. Something to consider expecially if you are in business with clients. It might work between you and your other half but not for others.

I can understand if you are not interested in repeating alert but it certainly puts the accountability and the cost on you and not the originator of the call.

I agree: I would be very iritated if I called someone, he didn't answer, and then I got a text message confirming that he didn't answer, but I had to pay for.

I work in the wireless industry as a trainer and an escalation for issues with equipment. ALL of the people that call me for business have text messaging.

Why would you have to pay to receive an sms? That makes no sense

Man, that's bad. So if random people start sending you txt messages you have to pay for it?

Well, obviously there are a bunch of people that wouldn't like this kind of software, but there are also a bunch that would like to have something like this. It's really like the Auto Reply option when you set your Out of Office status in Outlook. Anyway, I don't know if there are programmers out there that read through this forum, but if there are, then please create something like this for those that would be interested.

Thanks.

Yeah, making all of that happen is for sure a profitable talent! I know that I'm interested in that software and if he can do that, then he should be able to program something like what this thread is looking for as well! :D

I just found a program at Handango called "ImBusy" It's an SMS and Email auto-responder. I really like it. It's simple and cheap.
