Hi Jeff,

REXwireless offers e-mail injection into ToDoMatrix, making e-mails into tasks.

We also do the same thing with missed or completed phone calls from the phone log application, contacts in the address book, entries in the BlackBerry calendar, URLs visited with the BlackBerry browser, and a few other spots within the BlackBerry set of standard applications.

You are welcome to download a free trial by pointing your BlackBerry browser to:
http://REXwireless.com/download

Thanks,

I am confused. A week or so ago I asked if you could link activities to contacts from the contact view and was told "No".

Can I or can I not create an activity (to-do if it has to be) from the contact view on the BB and have it be linked to that contact?

Thanks, I am dying for someone to see the usefulness of this concept and incorporate it into software. Outlook is a horrible PIM and should not be the goal people shoot for.

Thanks for any feedback on the ability of your product(s) to achieve this.

I'm just a user, but the Inject into TodoMatrix and IdeaMatrix menu items exists in both the call log and address book. This will let you create a task or note from these areas, however, there is no "link" back to the contact address book, or from the address book to the task / note.

With the ability to define folders, and the search capabilities, you can certainly organize and / or find any task / note you create in ToDo/Idea Matrix. I've moved from the Pocket PC world (using Pocket Informant as my PIM) and linked extensively. However, I personally don't find the lack of linking a serious issue with the IdeaMatrix / TodoMatrix with a bit of folder management.

I prefer Follow up over Rex Wireless's app because with Follow up you can insert the entire email contents into the task AND it integrates with the native Tasks app.

Is there a maintenance release of follow-up coming? I love having it, waiting to see if there is an improvement.

At this time, you can create a task from contacts but it doesn't maintain a link to contacts. We are looking at enhancing the contacts link later in the year but no promises - we have not yet investigated it closely enough to understand how solid the link will be.

Thanks- I look forward to any development there. It is crucial to me as I use a CRM (ACT) on the PC and need to have activities linked to the contact directly so they can be recorded in the history for that contact.

Please keep us updated of any developments in the area of PIM functionality.
