I personally prefer the 'short headers'. Its intelligent thing to do - who sent it and whats it about are the really two imp things in there. Most of the time I know its sent to me and don't really care about received using etc.

But thats my personal choice. And we have posts requesting full headers as well. I am pretty confident it will be there in their next update, they have listened to the feedback all along

Yep, cursive and fantasy are my fav fonts. Regd the Millibank, we are looking into it. If technically possible we will provide these fonts as well.

I prefer full headers and would like to see that option available in the next update. I'll give the other email viewer a try for now.

Thumbs up Empower Mail Viewer 0.91 has arrived! - 06-29-2007, 02:54 AM

Hi All,

Firstly for those who have not yet read the Big News here you go -
http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...-copy-now.html

Close on heels with an sparkling arrangement with Mobylo, and their agreeing to give away 10,000 Licenses of the Professional Version FREE to the community members at BBF, Pinstack and HowardForums, here we are out with another upgrade - Version 0.91 !

The goodies:

1. All on Pearl, 7130 and other SureType handsets, happy times again, keyboard shortcuts are ON!

2. Enter works for all sort of links now. You no longer have to click->menu->getLink->click. Save the thumb and just press Enter. Email links will launch Compose, a Phone link will launch 'Call', and web links obviously launches the Browser. You said, we heard !

3. Headers required thinking. We were showing just the essential ones, From & Subject, to save valuable real estate on the tiny screen.. Some said 'Cool', others said, 'Want to see more..' So we have given both! Full headers will now show you To, Cc, Rcvd Using etc. Also, on Qwerty devices you can just press Q and toggle between Full Headers and Short Headers.

Please upgrade your copies from the usual urls -

OTA: www.getEmpower.com/emv.php
PC-DM: www.getEmpower.com/emv.php

Also, we are just one release away from 1.0 !

So if your girlfriends, work colleagues, and beer buddies, and the neighbors pet are not yet Empowered get them on board soon.

Honestly, I had expected the registrations to be fast, but so faassst.. we are touching close to 7,000 now.

More details about the giveaway in this thread
http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...-copy-now.html

Thanks!
Ani.

Awesome is all I can say! Thank you ani!!
One question since I've not seen a response to it yet...is there no way to get the native BB fonts added? I really love Clarity and I've seen others asking for BBMillbank.

Really digging the 0.91 upgrade, so nice to have SureType shortcuts back in! Seems to be faster too. I also like the ability to see the header, any way to put that into the options screen so we can make that a default? Always looking to save a little wear and tear on my thumbs....

Thanks!

Just noticed when I downloaded the .91 release it asks for your BB OS now, didn't notice that before, any particular reason??

trying your product now (I just tried the other similiar). One question; When checking a message there is a 1-2 second time frame when the original message is displayed, is this normal? Also I get weather alerts from Yahoo every morning and the actual weather graphic does not show up just a picture of a BLackberry with a number, 30 or 34?

Anyone else having problems opening bb contact attachments? I can open all other types I have tried but not these. There is not even an option to open it. Just like it does not recognize it. The sad thing is, It still does not give the option to open it even if you toggle back to text. The only way to get that option is to complety Delete Empower.

For those that dont know what kind of attachment I am talking about it is like a .vcf file, it is like a busines card that has all contact info in it. For instance you can send a PIN or email to someone from your BB, you can ATTACH ADDRESS and pick one from your address book. When the other person gets it, they should be able to open it and then save it. This way the contact info does not have to entered manually into the recieving BB.

I have had this issue through all versions including .91.

.91 is another great update The new shortcuts are great and I like being able to toggle between full headers and short headers but is there any way to make full headers the default view? Maybe include a full headers as default option in the Empower Options?

I'm also happy to hear you're looking into the native BB fonts. I'm warming up to the cursive font but I'd still love to see BBMillbank Tall

Yep, earlier we had a single codebase, that we have split into separate codebase now to provide better integration for each OS. You'll notice that all native functions still work on ALL OS > 4.0.2 as they did earlier.

I second the request to be able to set Full Headers as the default view in an option, I like to know who has been copied in on all emails I review, please look at that before we go to v1.0

As long as we still have a choice (make it a user preference in your settings)!!! Please... I prefer the short header... Pressing the Q key works great for me to see the full header.

Thanks!

Great Improvement, Ani, thanks!

Pressing the Q let me reply the email instead of showing the Full Header, so, I assumed the Q doesnt work on SureType yet, right?

I am one of the bunch that really want a full header to see who are the rest of the recipient besides myself.

Also, it would be nice if we can change the color of the font and color of the link as well. I set my background to SeaGreen and I can hardly see the link that is purple blue color by dafault.

Overall, impressive!

looks great!
A few ideas -

*add support to show icon for type of attachment - i.e. word, excel, jpg, etc
*more font options
*more key press options (keyboard BB's)

whats that "folder" app on your site? Is it a separate app for the BB?
Does it sync to backup folder on Desktop Software? Works with BIS?

Thanks for making a great html viewer!

forgot to mention -

can we have full headers (always on) as option? Right now we have to use the menu command to activate full header.

Thanks!

Original message, i think is to toggle between images in the original message(duh). Say someone sends you a reply that had images in the 'original' message. with this option set to off, the images would not load.

Show Image in Message:
- check - it will show image when you are reading the email.
- uncheck - it will not show image, you have to manually activate it.

Show Images in Origianl Message:
- check - it will show you the image when you are replying the email.
- uncheck - it will not shows the image in your original email when you reply or forward.

I might be nuts but since installing and using this app, my available memory keeps getting less and less - is there a memory leak?

What about the ability to turn off Smilies? Every time I get an email with ":p" or ":P" I get this . Since my name begins with the letter p (i.e. To:P...), I've been unintentionally getting razzed quite a bit lately...

Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem. When I receive an email that includes a : followed by certain letters (even if embedded within other text, such as mailto:Dave@aol.com), the : letter portion gets converted to a smilie so that the email link does not work. Can you make it so that there is an option to only do smilies if stand alone (i.e., not embedded within other text)?

Yep, we are aware of this innocuous bug. A small parsing skip - and :P, :D and :O all were turning into smileys. So :Patrick, :David and :Onth were all SMILEYS

This has already been fixed. Will be in there in the next update.

Thanksfor this it works well! I'd also like to see a different font and background color.

Is there an options menu that I'm missing? Is there a way to not have this default as turned on - and only when I ask it to retrieve pics?

'Empower Options' where you are at the Message List Screen, i.e, not yet opened any message but seeing the list of messages.

When I select Full Headers all that changes is the To and CC lines become visible. The Sent and Received Using lines are missing. Am I missing something?

Also, I'd prefer if clicking the wheel while on a link didn't launch the link but instead opened the menu.
