Are you conflicting yourself or I misunderstood what you mean?

In this post http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...tml#post584127 , aint you suggesting to have it the way Empower is setup as?

Correct me if I am wrong.

Two completely different things. Empower has added the use of the Enter key to launch a link and SmartView has not. The post you linked to is about SmartView.

The post you quoted is about a different behavior in Empower. When you scroll to a link in Empower and click the wheel (I can't comment on using an 8100, 88x0, or 8300) the link launches (either the browser or an email)-just like clicking Enter-instead of opening the menu. This means that if you wish to access the menu you need to make sure a link isn't highlighted.

fkjr, if you are on qwerty, just press Q to toggle between full and short headers. You know we wanted to give one for Suretype as well, but well.. less keys, less options!

Will put it up an option in the next release .

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not but my auto play on messages stopped working with the newest version. Please fix this fast that is such an integral part of having my 7105t in the holster to begin with! Thanks

I am using the latest version .91 of Empower (love it) but still don't see images in emails. I have searched the posts, have seen multiple places where people talk about getting an attachment (which is what happens to me) instead of seeing the embedded image. I can load version 2.0 of the other HTML mail program and it sees the image embedded. Yes, I have the correct options set in the options of Empower. Was there ever a solution for this issue, I didn't see any, just where people said they were having the issue.

Thanks,

Tony

OK, I finally got this to work but for some reason the image shows up twice? Anyone else have this issue?

Well it all depends on how the image is pasted in the email. The other HTML application must handle them a little different? Anyway, for testing purposes I used my yahoo account, created an email, pasted the link, and basically sent it back to myself.

1 - Create an email.
2 - Paste this link into the body of the email: http://www.berryreview.com/wp-conten....thumbnail.jpg
3 - Send it back to yourself (on your email account).
4 - When you BB gets the notification, open it on your BB.
5 - It will ask you to allow connections to a server.
6 - Allow it
7 - You will see it embedded in the email.
8 - Although, you will see two images though?????

Tony

Tony, thanks for detailing it so well. Although, the two images has been reported the first time. We will try to reproduce it here and look into it.

Also, the release version will improve on all counts including images and speed of performance..

When I recieve my "eBay Favourite Search" emails some images load but where the results are listed it shows a image loaging holder briefly which then dissapears.

Any thoughts..... they showup fine if I view the email using blackberry browser and OWA but that is a complete and utter PITA.

Cheers

I pasted the link in to an email in outlook 2003 and sent to my bes (besx-4.1.4) and bis (O2-UK) address'

the bes received email showed 2 image loading holders and only the bottom one loaded showing the image

the bis recieved email just shows a link "http://www.berryreview.com"

pbye. If it shows 'image loading briefly' that then disappears, it may be possible that the image is not able to be retrieved. We have your emails at support and we will run test case on each of your email to make sure whats the exact issue and why it does not loads.

Also, in the upcoming version and we intend to better image rendering significantly.

I'm not sure when this behavior started (may have always been there) but right now if you happen to have a phone number highlighted in an email message with Empower if you click the wheel in, it automatically dials the number instead of popping up the menu asking you if you want to call the number. It does the same thing when you highlight an email instead of popping up the menu asking you if you want to email. This has already caused me to inadvertently call people that I had not intended to. I think the behaviour should be consistent with the way the rest of the apps on the Blackberry work. By the way, great product!

Arrow Empower Release Version 1.0 is HERE !! - 07-03-2007, 11:28 AM

Hi All,

Okay, we are ready with the Release Version 1.0 ! As promised, we will send FREE licenses to ALL BBF USERS who have installed the beta and registered their contact details with us. If you are upgrading to v1.0 and have not yet registered your name & email address, pls do so now.

New in Version 1.0

1. Many people wanted to view only emails messages in HTML View but not PIN messages. So we have given you Four options to set it as the default viewer for: Incoming Only, PIN Msgs, Sent, and Compose Mode !

2. Full Headers Option - If you were pressing Q all the time to view expanded headers, save that key and set the option instead

3. SmartLinks: A clever improvement in the way links are displayed. If you have a number of links pointing to different places in the same website, they all look the same www.xyz.com to you. Not good. Also, someone said its uncomfortable to click on a link if you don't know the actual destination you will be taken to..

Both points are well grounded, so here we are now with SmartLinks. It shows you the last bit of the url as well.. Safe to know where you land before you jump.. In case you want Full Links its there as well !

5. Image rendering has improved significantly. Also given an Option to strip images altogether and give you a cleaner look. Or you can just show Images as Links, so that if your mail has 10 images you can view just the one you want and save bandwidth in the process. (Good for those on Rogers )

6. Option to turn off Smileys.

7. 4.1 & Higher: Link Address menu item provides you an option to view, copy, send etc.

Please upgrade your copies from the usual download URLs:

OTA: http://www.getEmpower.com/emv.php
PC-DM: http://www.getEmpower.com/emvzip.php

Use it! You will find the release version a vast improvement over the previous versions It sports a brand new look and feel and lot of useful options to customize it the exact way you want.

Thanks.
Ani.

I just downloaded and installed v 1.0. I am kind of digging the header background!

I still do not have images displaying though - still just a placeholder - was this issue ever resolved?

I have images turned on - I am on t-mobile, and have been having this exact same issue ever since the original beta program came out.

This version did fix a lot of the problems associated with failure to load images as well as page scrolling bugs.

But, I'm still having problems of image showing. I randomly signed up for a newsletter from sony and found that the image doesn't show.

also, it would be nice if there was an option to reduce the font size of the email header. That would dramatically cut down on scrolling (because i like the full header view). But regardless this program is really great.

Thanks.

also, there is a section for registration key. will we get one later? or will it be free always to use?

OK, I just downloaded version 1.0 (excellent job) but I don't have an image option anymore? Just, Set as default viewer, Font family and size, Header and Background pattern. Also, when I do have an image, I get the image and a place holder above it?

Thanks and good job,

Tony

If you go into your empower options, and press the menu again, there is an "advanced options"
click there and you will see more options for images.

First off, love the new look of version 1.0! Sorry to say however that I've found a crashing bug. I am using version 1.0.41.7 on a 7130e version 4.1.0.384.

When I go to my mail, click the scroll wheel, select EmpowerOptions, and then use Alt while scrubbing the list of background colors/patterns or font type, and if I do it quickly, the program crashes with a net.rim.vm.TooManyThreadsError. This behavior is consistent.

Also, I've noticed that in messages that I've sent, my preference for header style is not respected, and it is plain. Is this the correct behavior?

Thank you again for a fine program!

mmancini - this error occurs if you are scrolling through the Options too quickly. You can try hitting the letters to jump to your color choices or scroll one by one.

I downloaded version 1.0. Looks good so far, but I haven't gotten an email with the key. Should I have already gotten this? I have definitely registered already. (Actually I registered twice.)

Okay, i think putting up a quick info about license may be good idea. So here it is for the benefit of all. Things that i can think right away right now..

1. How to enroll ?
When you download Empower either OTA or the ZIP for DM, you have the option to register - just put in your name and email there, so that I know where to send the license to. I am kind of tied up with updates and all, and I will be putting up a system for sending out the license as soon as I am free.

2. I entered my details and haven't got a confirmation yet?
No, we don't send out confirmation emails or anything like that. The only confirmation is a successful installation of Empower. If you have entered your name and emails, and are able to successfully install Empower, then its confirmed you are in.

3. I installed Empower before but I don't remember if I put in my details there on the website. Can you please confirm as I want the FREE license but don't want to use up two licenses!

Thanks! You can enter your details again when you download. I will take care that I send you only one license.

4. When will I receive the FREE license?

See Pt 1. We are working fast to get things done, and we will soon set up a system to send you the license. Just make sure you check your email as the details will arrive in there. If things go as planned this will be within a week itself.

I guess that helps. In short, as soon as we are done with release, I will start setting up the system for license.

Thanks,
Ani

First, Ani, thanks for the response I am sure a lot of people were curious about this....

Second, wow. Version 1.0 is great. I cant think of anything else I want for this program.....simply amazing. The new backgrounds for header/body are great. The only thing I could think of for additions would be to somehow inject email info into tasks/calendar(there are other programs that do this), but thats really getting nit-picky.....

anyways, this is an amazing program and you should be commended for your great efforts.
