I forgot to mention, in order to enable Direct TCP connection from your BlackBerry, open Options -> SRA Ramble, and set Network Connection to 'Use Device TCP'.

I'll update the FAQ according.

Still doesn't work on a Verizon 7250 without BES, same IPPP service book error message. Also, it doesn't seem to have an exit button. The close button leaves it running in the task manager.

Edit, after your post about network settings. I don't have a network connection setting to change.

Have you configured the Network Connection options? If so, are you running BB OS v3.8 or higher with TCP enabled?

In fear of sounding too stupid, I don't have a "Network Settings" option until Options->SRA Ramble

Only:

In Holder Alerts
Out of Holster Alerts
Global Dialog on Im Receipt
Auto-away on Idle and Holstered
TOC Host and Port

In an attempt to organize all the Ramble ramblings, we've created a thread to track release information, bugs and other general info. Feel free to move your conversations there, or continue in existing threads.

That thread will be kept updated as to the status of Ramble.

You must not have the correct version. The current download version is 0.9.5.3.

On the download screen, press the 'r' key to force it to reload the .jad file. If you're seeing 0.8.3.5, it is using a cached version of the page.

Also, post your results in this thread:http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=8193

Yes, still just for use with AIM, Nextel units should now be able to use Ramble.

What is the cost? What I mean is how does the cost show up on the bill from my service provider? Is it considered data or is it billed like a text message?

The AIM protocol was what I was using on my Desktop, and when I wanted to walk away from my Desktop, I wanted to keep AIM'ing, so I wrote AIM. It also has an open text protocol which makes it easy to program.

hey rambler when you refer to the unknown exceptions causing silent disconnect you mean when I put my BB in my holster w/ aim active and then I pull it out a couple minutes later or whenever and find myself at the login screen right? Because thats a issue I'd like a fix for please!
