Question SimulSays, 8100 Menu Missing?? - 07-09-2007, 11:18 AM

Got a 81xx, have SimulSays installed and working, i think lol, but can't find the option i need. I rec'd setup instructions from SS. They say to use "Forward if Busy" and "Forward if Unavailable" but...........
I don't have any options under the Call Forward option to Forward if busy or forward if no answer, do you? (In call log options)

btw...Is Phone and Phone Log the same? TIA

Thx
Low

Low, try Phone > Options > Call Forwarding > Forward Unanswered Calls.

Not in Call Logging, but in Call Forwarding.

I don't understand your last question, Phone and Phone Log are not the same thing. There is a call log under the phone dialer screen which holds the last 20 calls to/from the BB. At Messages > View Folder > Phone Log, you will find a complete phone log, barring any deletions you have made.

I found Options under phone, then call forwarding, then it says "foward all calls". I then have the option, by clicking trackball, to change it to: Do Not Forward or a phone number from SimulSays. There are NO other options. thx

Thx

Pressing the green phone button and pressing the Call Logs icon on the main menu do the exact same thing. They open the Phone application and show you the last 20 incoming/outgoing calls.

So to get to the Call Forwarding preference screen, you would use the following selections:

> Green phone button (or main menu Phone Logs icon)
> Menu button
> Options
> Call Forwarding

By the way, it should not be necessary to follow the "step-by-step" Blackberry directions at the end of the SimulSays welcome email. All you should have to do is enter the string of symbols and numbers (something like *004*6175551234*11#) that is found near the beginning of the email and hit send. If you get a message that the action was successful, then your phone has automatically been programmed to forward calls to SimulSays regardless of the forwarding situation (you don't answer, the phone is off, or you press "Ignore" while it's ringing).

the software is easy to install, simply follow their directions.

i just canceled mine because it drained my 8100's battery pretty quickly.

Also, max. voice mail length is 1 min. and I could not get the email voice mail as attachment function to work.

A good start but unfortunately my battery is more important.
