We studied it last week before releasing it and found very little effect on overall battery consumption. A little but not as much as apps that are constantly pulling from the network.

Well had to delete the screen saver after I would get a call on the 7520 direct connect I couldnt exit out of the screen couldnt go anywhere but the use once screen.Screen saver would come back on and i could hit esc then it would let me go where ever I wanted. Couldnt figure it out as soon as I deleted the SS bam I am up and running again. Was nice while it lasted.

Nice pics, one question though. Like dawg, earlier i had my phone in the leather holster (with sleep function) and i had 5 messages and a couple of missed calls. I had previously loaded SS and when i removed the phone and made a call that i had missed, the phone wouldnt let me escape to home screen. I had to turn it off and back on to reset it (ctrl alt delete didnt work). If it was "sleeping" does the screen saver still activate even though the screen isnt on. and could this be the reason for the freeze?

It would be nice if they could format their current SS so that cycled through your personal pics

It would but until they get the sticking in call area worked out not worth it to me. To much of a headache to wait for the SS to come back or ALT CAP DEL

Hey Dawg and coreyg510,

Thanks for the great input. The problems described in the posts have both come up while we were testing the program. They are known and can be quickly solved by disabling Keyboard lock as well as disabling the photo album screensaver as well.

Having those two or at least one of them, will cause the bb to lock up.

Thanks again for the feedback (it's the only way to help us make it right!)

Disabling the keyboard lock is not an option I have. That is a security feature for me. Only option was deleting the least important thing. I do like the program though.

I read somewhere on this forum that there some veteran BB developers that would be happy to compile some pics into a .cod for use with the free Klaus screensaver code. I'm guessing if I have loaded the free Star Wars screensaver, which I have, then I can run with this offer too.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Michael.

Default found it - 06-02-2005, 10:27 PM

okay, thanks everyone, I've found it.

Up until yesterday, all I had ever seen were the 3 files of the free Star Wars screensaver (alx and cod files) and couldn't figure out how to add my own images to that.

Yesterday I found and downloaded the full screensaved_0.5.4 project, and have since added my own photos, compiled, copied .cod over the existing .cod, installed on my BB device - easy once you know how!

The full screensaved_0.5.4 project has a link here in Blackberry Forums:

Michael.

Thumbs up Suggestion & Question - 07-21-2005, 06:07 AM

The thing when phoning and getting stuck on the “use once” can easily be solved by pressing ALT + Escape and selecting the Home Screen. It is a bit of a mission.

The question:
I can see my own version working on the simulator, if I compile my own pics into the Screen saver but not on my bb. Does one need to have the cod(s) signed? Or did I install it incorrectly?

Very nice pics!

Question No Image? - 07-21-2005, 07:15 AM

Hi

I've played around with the screen saver a bit more. Just changing the images, recompile just the one cod file and install it to my bb. Now I can see the options section, BUT the preview gives me a blank screen.

Any ideas?

Thanx
