I downloaded it. However, I don't like that I need to register before I use it. I am uninstalling it for now.

Program could definitely use more work, but is a great solution for people who don't want to spend money on a phone program (LIKE ME! broke college student here).

The only problems I have had with the program is that I have to press the menu button to do anything, pressing the trackball down does nothing! I can't get it to stop displaying offline contacts, and I hate that when you scroll down, upon reaching the bottom, it rolls back around to the top.

Otherwise, a good solid program.

So far.

Your right, I would love to see a "Close to Background" option, to say the least.

Thx

Definitely not as solid as Jivetalk (and I hate the extra step that it takes to compose and send a chat message), but it lets me log in to Skype--essential for work!, and the voice chat feature is nice for talking to my friends who are out of the country. Not to mention that free is a pretty good price!

I know what yo are going through about the trackball not functioning intuitively like it should.

I had the same problem with the offline contacts and I played around for quite a bit and I managed to have it not display. It seems the settings for contact list work strangely or is buggy. What I did was highlight the hide offline contacts and selected Ok instead of select. When I went back to the settings there was no check mark but the offline contacts do not show up.

Yes I downloaded it on my 8830 and it took for ever, did not work and it does not allow ICQ!! WOW then it got stuck after I put the wrong password in to log in to aol. had to delete it to just get it working.

My quest for a cheap, read free, tool is starting to wear on me.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A VALID JIVETALK COUPON???

I like this app a lot. I was looking for something that would cover my Yahoo!, Gtalk, and AOL and this does it. Yes it does need some work, but I believe this is the first release. Having to hit the menu button for everything is a bit annoying and takes getting used too. Also, when hitting the "ESC" button, it closes out/logs off the app, while pressing the "End" button doesn't. Weird. You also have to adjust the Volume/Vibrate settings within the app instead of through profiles. I think it will get better.

I also downloaded the PC version, and while i haven't really used it yet, I'm sure it will be fine.
