Angry Is there an app that shows the number keys and letters associated with the number? - 07-18-2007, 02:52 PM

Sometimes when calling a company, they tell to you hit ... *T

"Uhhhhhh... so what number corresponds to 'T' on a classic touch tone phone?"

Is there an app or am I going to have to use a graphic for that as my background...

when you need to type letters while on the phone, hold the alt key and just type it out.

Never in my life have I heard a prompt to enter a letter. That just doesn't make any sense. However, you can "dial" letters on your phone. Just press the Alt key and the appropriate letter. Your BB will translate that into the right number.

Actually, at my company, it asks u to dial the fisrt 3 letters of the group you are looking for. So it does happen.

Default Thanks... - 07-18-2007, 03:15 PM

Thanks guys, I'll try that.

Like the automated names directory when you call a company... Pain in the rear, but at least there is a solution.

Trying that now.

at my company vmail system, it asked me to enter * D in order to delete a vmail.

So, it makes sense, and it does happen in real world.

Well, I stand corrected. I guess it's more prominent than I thought. But apart from dialing by letters (e.g., 1-800-GOFEDEX) I've never had to use letters. All of my many voicemail systems are numbers based.

Search for Spell N Dial. It will do what you want and it's free.

Audix voice mail prompts use letter most of the time *d to delete, **h to save and keep the indicator light on the desktop phone on, etc.
