Default AIM client w/ buddy info???? - 07-23-2007, 05:07 PM

Hello I have downloaded just about every multiple IM client that has AIM support for my Blackberry 8300. Most of them work great, especially IM+, but theres one problem with all of them.

I am unable to view my friends buddy info nor am I able to edit my own buddy info. I would like to edit my buddy info with something like 'via Blackberry' similar to what Sidekick users have.

Does anyone know if there is any AIM clients for Blackberry that have support for buddy info? Thanks in advance.

And through Jive talk, you may edit your buddy's nickname and your display name.

and with JiveTalk your buddy information says:

"On JiveTalk"

Grr, it really bothers me now that blackberries are considered 'cool'. We have all the kiddies out there now that want to identify themselves as using a blackberry.

Haha I guess I want to be cool...

With JiveTalk can I edit my buddy info to whatever I want instead of it saying "On JiveTalk"?

I have not found a way to edit that. Its free advertising for them.

is 'on jivetalk' less cool sounding than 'on my blackberry'?

Mine doesn't say that.

If I set my status as away or busy, it will say, "I am away from JiveTalk right now", but I have a custom message set there which does not include the JT text.

I know, I am just trying to troubleshoot through this with you.

I don't have the "on JiveTalk" in buddy info at all on mine, that my friends can see.

Is there a difference with buddy info for unregistered users of jivetalk?

Any other IM programs that people know about that can let you change your buddy info? Is it some server issue with AIM with these third party programs?
You can easily change your buddy info when you are signed onto AIM on your computer, but it doesn't seem to be as easy when using a third party AIM client.
