Default BOXTONE questions.. - 07-24-2007, 12:48 PM

a couple questions about BOXTONE

Can Boxtone be setup to send an alert via e-mail or SMS to admin/user when the user's call service/data network starts to downgrade. Like when they go from full service to only 1 bar.

Can boxtone send sms/email alerts when battery starts to get low? Can we set a threshold for this? possibly the same with the cell service?

Wirelessly posted (8700c, 7100g, 7290, 7280: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Boxtone reads and interprets the log files on the BES, so if these things are not transmitted back to the BES, they cannot be configured as an alertible threshold. I do not believe either of these items are reportable metrics.

No we can't do that. Currently since BoxTone is agentless the only way we can get battery or service information from a device is when the devices report back this information to the BES which occurs at a much to infrequent rate to really be meaningful.
