Can anyone recommend a good free or inexpensive file manager software for an 8830? Don't need networking ability, just want to be able to see what is on device and card.

eFile by Dynoplex is pretty decent.

I tried it and it was not my favorite.

Idokorro Mobile File Manager

I've never used it, but I use other Idokorro products and they're great.

The Idokorro package includes local file management, but its primary purpose is network-based -- FTP, Windows files shares, etc. It is an excellent package for the network side (I have an 8703e, so I haven't used the file management functions.) There is a 30-day free trial (fully functional) so give it a try...
