Default PocketDay v5 Beta for 71xx and 87xx devices - 08-02-2007, 06:21 PM

All,

We now have a beta version of PocketDay version 5 for 71xx and 87xx series devices.

** IMPORTANT ** you must have BlackBerry OS version 4.1 or higher. Version 4.0 of the OS is no longer supported. BB OS 4.1 is available for all 71xx and 87xx devices.

Please send me a Private Message with your email address, device model and OS version to be included in the Beta.

Some features like memos, etc. are not available for these devices due to the limitations of OS 4.1.

-CRS

This looks really good, is there an owner's manual?

For example, what does "view switch ribbon on" mean...

And, how to set carrier settings...

Thanks

THe ribbon is a window that pops up if you move your trackball left or right from the home screen. The pop up gives you the ability to go to specific modules within PD. That option gives you the ability to shut off that functionality.

What if you have an 8700 with 4.2, does it have these limitations?

I think the ribbon works with only 4.2 track ball devices. It does seem to work with the ole thumb wheel.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/125)

If you have OS 4.2 then all features work.

The ribbon bar works on alder devices. Press the middle convenience key to bring it up.

Dawg,

PD shouldn't slow your device at all...what BB model do you have? It's most likely a communications setting.

7130e the device ran fine prior to installing and after it may be a memory issue but it was still slow.

Good news CRS. I already uninstalled the other version and look forward to see if the product has improved itself.
