Default Question about BlackBerry Alerts - 08-02-2007, 09:47 PM

I downloaded the trial and I can't seem to fully figure it out. I finally set it to alert me when I miss an SMS. It will wait 2 minutes then send out a tune but the tune is hardly noticable.. it is very fait. When I log into my BBAlerts section it says that the Buzzer is not supported. This is frustrating. How can I get the BBAlerts to actually have a sound that My Blackberry will support.

I mean whats the point of having alerts that you can't hear.

Again this is mainly going to be used for when I receive an SMS and I am away from the phone. I would like a BUZZ every 1 - 3 minutes to go off until I check the BB.

Any help?

Aurelia

Your profile says you're using an 8703 device. If that's correct, you've asked this question in the wrong forum. This is the forum for 8300 models. It should be placed in the 8700 fourm.

In addition to the Options that you have likely already set within Blackberry Alerts, you also have to go into your Profiles.

You will find a new 'category' has been created for Blackberry Alerts within each profile when you installed BB Alerts (in addition to whatever categories you had before, such as Phone, SMS, etc., you will now have a new one up near the top). Here you will find the settings you need to set your alert tones, volume (low, med, high). You can set your preferences for each profile (so that in your Vibrate profile, you can set vibrate alerts, and in Loud profile, you can set a loud alert, and so on).

That sounds like what you want to do, post back if I misunderstood as I don't have your model of BB but I think what I wrote should apply.

If you find that the default setting for Blackberry Alerts in whichever profile you regularly use is a quiet tone that you recognize, and you are able to change it and the volume of it to something else, I think we'll have licked your problem.
