Thanks,
Trickle | VR+ works on Blackberry devices with 4.2 OS only.
If you upgrade your Blackberry OS to 4.2, you can use VR+.
CAUTION: do not try to install VR+ or any app built for 4.2 OS to BB with 4.1 or 4.0 OS. This may damage your Blackberry.

| This may be a dumb question as I haven't had the chance to download the program yet. Does the program save the audio to internal memory or to a microSD card? I want to record a meeting in person and wonder if there is a size/time limitation. I have a 2gb microSD card installed. I will probably be in the meeting for an hour. Would I be able to record that much?

I'm using an 8310 Curve. | You can save to the SD card, no problem. With a 2GB card an hours worth of audio would would fit easily.
I have an 8310 as well. VR+ picks up sound so good that placing it on a table in a meeting picks up all the voices. It's great. | | Offline

| I can say I'm not impressed with Shape as a company either. I beta test software whenever I can, I use very little of what I test when the testing is over, however I am accustomed to receiving a copy of the final release, a discount for purchase, or at least an extended trial. After the beta round with vr+ I got a "Thank you, please buy our software." That's about the same as a kick in the shifter. I don't see a need for this program in my line of work, but a little sign of appreciation other than thanks might have brought me back when an app I can use is developed.

| Ditto. I'm assuming the only thing new about the new release is the online storage.
Which is quite cool! Way to keep VR+ still relevant in the face of the oncoming 4.31 OS's voice recording capabilities.
I just think they could use shorter URLs, though. WAY shorter URLs. If TinyURL.com can get away with tiny URLs, so should VR+.

| Victoria - I have now upgraded my Cingular 8700 to use Desktop Manager 4.2.1.6, however I seem to be unable to install VR+. When browsing to wap.shapeservices.com on the bb it does not list VR+. I am guessing this auto filters to only show software that is available for the device? Also tried downloading the software to install over Application Loader, but it also will not install as it says there is no software for my device. Is there something with the software that says it is 8800 only and won't install on a 8700 using 4.2?
Thanks, | | Offline

Thanks, | No, it will work on an 8700, you need to update your hand held os to 4.2. Just using the 4.2 desktop manager wont do it. try this link and follow the dirs in the first post like your BB's life depended on it.

| Second question. I have a curve 8310. I downloaded the trial version v2.2.2. I don't mind paying for it if it works.
I've set the left convenience key to launch VR+ and I set VR+ to automatically record on startup. If I start from the icon it goes into record mode straight away. If I start from the convenience key it does not (I have to hit space). Is this working as designed? It is not what I expected. I wanted a one key record capability.
Thanks.
