Unhappy Getting Sky Active (Sky by mobile) to work

Please Login to Remove!

I am using a blackberry 7100X configured with BES (O2) and have just successfully downloaded the Sky Active software to try to get my Sky+ box to remote record.

User Name and Password I have entered exactly as per the Sky website, however I think I am stuck on the APN. I have tried both and, both without success. They produce the message "The data connection has failed".

So basically I have three questions.

(1) Do I have to change anything in the Advanced Options to get the connection to work (I can successfully browse normal websites such as

(2) What is the correct setting for the APN

(3) How can the APN field be changed without having to remove the software, reboot the blackberry and do a complete new install.

I am an IT Manager, so this shouldn't be rocket science, but with the lack of information on Sky or O2's website, it does make the guessing game a bit more tricky.

Its been a while since I had a 7100, but I recall it should work ok. Check the TCP section (check within the options/settings menu) as the apn, user and pass for O2 details need to be filled in there also if you have it.

As I say I believe it should work, unfortunately once it doesn't seem to work on Curve/8820 version of software as even if you know where to download it, it just freezes!
