Default Is this software available for my blackberry? - 08-17-2007, 04:02 PM

I'm looking for something that will keep my blackberry from going into secure mode and locking, I can't adjust the setting that my works exchange server pushed to it when I connected, but if I had software that could trigger something on the blackberry to simulate me using it (like an application being opened and then closed automatically), it wouldn't lock I assume ... does this exist?

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I have an 8700 with At&t

If an IT Policy has been sent to your device which causes it to lock after a certain period of time... then there is absolutely no way for you to avoid that happening.
The IT policy doesn't care if the device is idle, or in use. If its set to lock after X minutes... then it will lock after X minutes.

The IT Policy was put there for a reason. I suggest you simply learn to live with it.

I'm sure there is a way, you can't tell me that if I play brickbreaker for 5 minutes straight, it's just going to auto lock on me. I'm sure there are certain functions that keep it from locking. Thank you for your help.

Penguin is correct. You will not be able to override the IT policy. Have your admin check the IT policy, under device-only items, See what the Maximum security timeout is set to. This setting will lock the device when it reaches the maximum security timeout no matter what is being done on the device.

I just did tell you that.
IT Policy rules the device, and doesn't care if you're in the middle of a game of brickbreaker. If your BES admin wants the device to lock itself after X minutes... then they can make it lock after X minutes. End of story.
