Hi, I downloaded fine, but when I go to run I get the following error:
Error starting xplayer: Class 'javax.microedition.io.file.FileConnection' not found.

Thanks

I am sorry :( but I think file API is supported from OS 4.2.x.

You can update your device OS.

See more info on www.blackberryforums.com

Good luck!

I'm just curious if anyone has taken a look at how much active memory this applications uses in comparison with the stock Media Player.

Anyone notice a substantial difference in the operability of the other phone's functions while xPlayer is running the background?
e.g. active text messaging, emailing, browsing the internet (either through BB Browser or Opera Mini), and receiving phone calls while doing all of the prior at the same time?

Haven't had enough time to fool around with this, so was just curious!

Thanks!

Haven't check my memory, but I have had no difference in the way my Pearl acts. (os 4.2.071)

Thx

Thanks Lowrider.

Just dropping by after doing some playing around with it for about an hour this morning.

I somehow got 2 songs playing at once, I believe I switched to a new song while it was about to end one song and move to the next one automatically.

Often I find that if I allow xPlayer to switch automatically between songs instead of manually choosing, the song that comes on will be silent.

Lastly, I just wanted to let you know that I connected my Plantronics bluetooth (mono) device, then booted xPlayer, and music streamed to my earpiece with no issues.

(.94 Beta)

Hi all

My earlier bug report has been fixed (xPlayer opening after phone call), Thanks.

But i see it still can't add sub-folders or recognise m3u playlists, will these be added in a minor version upgrade or major version 1.0 etc.

Also I tested it on an avi file and it played (ie no errors) but there was no sound nor picture, what formats does it support?

So far the only problems I see is:
  • video is only a small square in the center of the app..
Some Suggestions for you:
  • Can you make the "end call key" put the app in background mode like the built in media player??
  • The ability to save the playlists to m3u or other type of file.
  • Put the shortcut keys in the about or a help menu option
  • Allow the mute key to mute audio
  • When you select a track with the ball and click it would be nice if the track would start to play
So far so good though..

Do you want full screen support ?

My Pearl displays video as standard media player, video playback screen size 240 x 220, so we can implement full screen support if need

Other people say than can't playback video files, or they can't open their.
Can u provide me file extension of unsupported files ?

Excellent job with this app, just got my hands on the new version, and I'm also wondering what video formats it handles?

As for bugs... not as buggy as before... I was playing a song, got a e-mail, it stopped the song. (should not do this) and then when I went back to the player, after reading the e-mail, it started the song from the beggining, even though the scroll status said it was at 2:30 into the song.

Keep up the good work!

now it supports .avi files,
have you other files ?

If you have problems with your files, you can get me download link to this file, so I could test xPlayer with this file and fix issues

Thanks

ok, so right now it's just AVI... what file size and screen dimensions? I just tried this one:
http://www.idreamincode.com/photos/r...lancecrash.avi

The file loaded, played, but it stayed on the mp3 list screen and no video or audio, so really, it didn't play.

ah, I think you can't play desktop video files,
to playback video files you should convert it to blackberry supported video fotmat.

I suggest to you free BlackBerry Video Converter, software from our friends:
Seabyrd Technologies - Blackberry Video Converter

I use it and love it

I was just trying to play a avi. It work on the standard media player just fine, but on xplayer it looks like it is only 1/2 the resolution...

I've attached pics to show what i mean

xplayer is in the first one. The same file played in the built in media player is on the right.

Full screen video would be awesome, maybe an option to view it on the BB Pearl turned 90 degrees, so that the whole screen would completely utilized.
Or, a way to hide the on-screen controls until needed. An auto-hide function?

Anyway u guys can get video's to display on the FULL screen? I would like the video to take the full screen up, not like widescreen mode. On my m600 and E6, video's would be stretched and took up the whole screen. Anyway we could do this?? Keep up the good work! Im using a curve by the way.

I PM'd you ... I looked through the songs to see if one had a weird character that will cause an exception or something .. Didn't find anything. There is a BBThumbs.DAT file in the music folder. Don't know if that would cause an issue.

Another nice feature would be an option to not allow duplicate songs on a play list. So that if I "readd" a folder it only adds the new songs in it.

nice app - but this and the dollar5 player could both do with a ui revamp - they look like they were written in the mid nineties!

Default how about delete? - 09-04-2007, 09:44 PM

I'd like the ability to delete a song off my Curve. Ideally, I could be in shuffle mode, hit Delete, it would delete and go to next song. Or, if that is not possible, delete after it finishes.

I rip a bunch to my computer, autmomatically sync, then find out some songs are no good.
