Default Medical Software For Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good *free* medical programs for the Blackberry. I have a lot of classmates using Treos and Palms and are using programs such as epocrates, and know that medical programs exist for the Blackberry, but they are all really expensive, with monthly fees. Blackberries seem to be all around superior to palm devices (my opinion, of course ;) ) so I would imagine that there would be similar programs out there.

I have found QxMD - Free Medical Calculators for the Blackberry a few months ago, but they still haven't put out anything other than a Nephrology calculations program. I am mainly looking for drug or disease databases.

Thanks!

Good news, epocrates is starting beta right now for the blackberry. So it won't be too much longer before you can finally use thier software on the BB. Hopefully they'll keep a decent free version like they do for the palm.

Skyscape (www.skyscape.com) offers some free titles (Skyscape: Product Advisor, unfortunately, none of them are currently available for the BB, but it won't hurt to keep an eye on them.

I find their software reasonably priced, and I like the fact that they use a "reader" which organizes all of your titles in one application.

You can always access some free resources with your BB browser:

The Merck Manual: The Merck Manual

Medical Dictionary:
Medical.WebEnds.com

There are hundreds of free drug reference websites, so just do a search and find one you like.

This site has some medical applications:

BlackBerry dictionaries, phrase books and other language and reference solutions by BEIKS

The Pocket Guide to Medications looks interesting. It's not free but is only $20.
