Angry WebMessenger Support - 08-29-2007, 05:22 PM

I purchased the WebMessenger Message Alerts product many months ago (4-5~) and I have experienced no problems. However, about a month ago my Blackberry 7130e was replaced and of course it comes with a new PIN. After reloading their software from their site I entered the validation code I received from my initial purchase and it does not activate the product. I currently have it running in trial mode but it will expire in another 10-11 days (15 day trial).

I have for over a month tried reaching their support via email. At the time of my initial purchase they were very awesome about responding and following-up on requests, etc. However, in the past month I get what I believe to be an automated response to my email that a ticket has been opened. Subsequent efforts to reach them at various email addresses has gone unnoticed.

I recently when through their FAQ's to see if I could find another means to solve the problem and found nothing helpful. One suggestion was to add their webmessenger address under settings and request activation via the loaded product on the blackberry. That was yesterday and no response today.

I suspect somewhere in May 2007 another company bought them (Apptix) but I have not researched this fully nor have I tried to locate their corporate number. I did however get a sales solication that offered an 800 number but it only has two options (receptionist or entry of last name of the party you want to reach). Of course the receptionist never answers and the call eventually goes to fast busy.

My questions are:
1) Has anyone switched out their blackberry using their product and what was the process you used to receive a new activation code?
2) Any other number to contact other than 800-WEB-MSGR?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought Webmessenger Alerts within the last 4 - 6 weeks I would guess. I know that in May I had barely gotten my BB so I definitely didn't register it that far back. I'd estimate it was about a day, perhaps two, between the time of purchase until I recieved a code.

I will check the dates and email address it came from, etc. when I get home.

I would welcome whatever you have received. I saved my initial email when they sent me the activation code and the email address provided at the time was [email address]. This is the email address I tried using to prompt support over the past 30 days and it is one listed on their site for support but no personal follow-up or instructions on solving the problem.

I really cannot justify buying the product again knowing this is the level of customer support you receive.

Well, my memory was somewhat not as good as I thought it was, heh.

I bought the application on Aug 5th, and got the activation code right away (so no delay as I'd indicated earlier).

The support email address is the same one you have, sorry.

In re-reading your initial post, you tried everything that I would do. I am not sure what to suggest next. Since you just did the request activation thing yesterday, it might be too early to expect a response, except for the fact that you tried to contact them earlier too.

I seem to have accidentally also sent a reactivation email (just checked my Sent Messages in Outlook, heh) so if I hear back I'll post here but suspect that if I do, so will you by then.

Hi Guys,

A lot of people don't know this but if you contact the customer support team from the site you purchased the software from, they can often generate you a new activation code.

They will first try to contact the developer and if they don't hear back from the developer within a couple of days then they will do it.

So for example if you purchased from the MobiHand network (mobihand, pinstack, crackberry, blackberrcool, etc.) then you should email [email address]
Not sure who to email for Handango but I'm sure you could find the address somewhere on their site.

Cheers,
eZainny.

I purchased the product directly from the provider's site. WebMessenger Inc.

I'm pretty sure they don't use 3rd party vendors either.

Webmessenger got bought out by another company within the time frames that everyone has been talking about by I believe Apptix (without looking at the site). When I switched over from my 8700g to 8800, I tried contacting support via the site, and they responded back and said to use the Send Registration via the app on the phone. After doing that, I had my code in about 15 minutes. This was about a month ago.

I started late this afternoon pursuing the new owners of WebMessenger - Apptix's Technical Support. On Apptix's site they provided an email address for Apptix products support and I explained my case and pleaded for help. I also contacted the public relations office of Apptix but I think it was my email to technical support in the end that finally got someone's attention. It is very clear the new technicians are learning how to support the product because after seven email exchanges we finally got an activation code to work. Their challenge is the previous WebMessenger delopers wrote an alogrithm calculator for each product and when I referred to the company as WebMessenger they assumed it was their WebMessenger mobile platform product. Therefore, all of the activation codes provided were for the wrong product.

After lots of trial and effort I am back up and running but it clear to get support for WebMessenger use this address and clearly describe the WebMessenger Product you are using - [email address]

I support about 30 licenses using webmessenger. I say licenses because I get new users who I reuse the licenses of users who leave the company. I am constantly changing users and requesting activation codes for them. I noticed recently that it took a bit longer to get a new activation code. Sometimes weeks. But it started to improve a bit. Months ago, I would get a new activation code within the same day. I guess the previous posts explain why.

I recently had a problem with message alerts on my 8830. I contacted support and it took a week for them to reply and say that it is a known bug and will be fixed in the next build. I worked with support for another problem last year sometime and they responded immediately to my requests. Hopefully Apptix can get their act together. It would be a shame to loose such a great product to crappy support.

I am currently running Webmessenger 2.0 (61005) on 8700c. I recently re-installed this program due to some problems I was having (non-related to Webmessenger). I do not see an option for the phone rule "only if missed." How does the program trigger a nofication for a missed call? I cannot get this particular feature to work, others work GREAT!

I replied to your other post, which I hope solves your problem. However, v2.1 is the version I have, so you might hit their site and see if you can grab the latest version.
