Default Emulator Related Question - 09-01-2007, 08:37 AM

How come something as powerful as an 8-series blackberry (8100/8300/8700/8800) which all have 312Mhz Xscale CPUs is having so much trouble emulating something a simple as an NES? I remember my first symbian phone, which ran a 100MHz ARM9(nokia 3650) could manage a super nintendo emulator at almost full speed. I know that was native app and blackberry apps are written in java which does cause a performance drop, but i have coded extensiveiy in both, and its not so big of a drop to make something 5x(at least) slower then it should be. so what gives? Is it the OS? Have I been lied to and my blackberry does not run that powerful of a CPU? Does the JVM real stink on the BB? what is it?
