Default Opera Mini & SimulSays incompatibility? - 09-04-2007, 11:26 PM

Good news and bad news.

So my T-Mobile 8800 has been stubborn as far as working with Opera Mini, both the beta and regular 3.1. I saw someone on here post that their Opera Mini was being disrupted by SimulSays. I uninstall SimulSays just to see what happens, and voila - Opera works.

That's the good news.

Now the bad news.

Has anyone gotten these two programs to coexist and work perfectly? If so, what settings should I change? I've already got the wap.voicestream.com ... I think they're both essential programs, so any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here. It also interferred with NAV4ALL. I contacted SIMULSAYS and they said it is a known problem they are working on. Too bad because it is a great program

We are getting closer to solving the issue and continue to work on it.

One solution is to use the polling function under Options > SimulSays Voicemail Options.

I tried that and didn't work. We are looking forward to when you have it fixed. SIMULSAYS is the best visual voicemail on the market!!!!

I am considering using SimulSays, however incompatability with Opera Mini 4 beta 2 would be a deal breaker for me. Can they coexist yet?

I downloaded and installed it today on my Pearl. If SimulSays options is set to Polling, Opera seems to work. However, if SimulSays options is set to Polling, I don't seem to be able to get any messages. I guess I could simply turn Polling on when I want to use Opera, and off when I exit Opera, so that my messages appear on SimulSays, but this is a hassle. Oh, and it's not JUST Opera... bbweather doesn't work, and some nav program that I don't happen to use, also conflicts with SimulSays, so it's not an issue created by Opera, it seems it's an issue with SimulSays.

One more (minor) issue... when my bluetooth headset is connected with my Pearl, I can listen to the beeps from PacMan, I can listen to voice messages on the standard voice mail, I can even listen to music (although, it is mono, only coming from one ear, and not very enjoyable), but I can NOT listen to my SimulSays messages! Can't even listen to them with speaker phone turned on... it won't turn on when SimulSays is launched!

Hope they work these bugs out....

Thanks for taking the plunge! I will give it some time, visual voicemail is a feature I would like to have but not at the cost of such incompatabilities.

If you want to use SimulSays, load it to your blackberry, and use it.

If you want to use Opera, simply go into the Options/SimulSays, and select "Polling Mode"... then, launch Opera, and it'll work fine.

Once you're done using Opera, you'll need to go back into Options/SS, and uncheck "Polling Mode", in order for SimulSays to display your phone messages.

It's a slight hassle, but I personally don't use Opera every day, and the few times I want to use Opera, I simply turn Polling on, then back off once I'm done.

Yeah... it's a hassle, wish SimulSays would fix the problem, but again, if you want to have visual voice mail, and you don't use Opera or Nav4All that often, it is a temporary solution.
