Default Sudoku anyone? Anyone?? - 09-05-2007, 03:41 PM

Why is it so difficult to find a good sudoku game for the blackberry? For example:

* The "free" game from Magmic is actually crippleware. You get 50 easy grids for your trouble which is ridiculous. The interface is not even that good.

* The offering from s4bb is too small and hard to read and lacks features. However, I will say this for them: you get the millions of grids and their customer service is excellent. If they had a good sudoku game I would happily be their customer.

Any other offerings out there I should know about?

Up until a week ago i used a "windows mobile" phone, and while the phone itself had some problems, the sudoku game I found for it was absolutely superior. big bright well defined grid, excellent highlighting features (you could highlight the number you were working on) and had like seven or eight difficulty levels. Excellent excellent game and it was FREE (truly free - not "free" in the magmic sense.) Here is a link:

SuperDoku

I'd almost buy that guy a blackberry to get him to port his superdoku!!

The developer of the sudoku game I linked to intimates that if the .net framework could be made to run on a bb then his game would run just fine. Anyone know if there are an mono-ish groups working on that? What a great idea.

Of course if M$ buys the BB I am moving to the iPhone asap.

did you try the free version available from http://mobile.blackberry.com? i haven't tried it, so don't know if it's any good. browse to that site on your BB, then go to games, then free games.

Correct me if I am wrong but the free version from mobile.blackberry.com is actually the magmic version which has everything _except_ 50 Easy puzzles crippled. Thus making it, realistically, non-free. This should be relabeled as crippleware, or 'demo' somewhere in these forums to make sure people know what is what.

The game 5ud0ku is easily the best I have found so far. Superb freeware game.

I would say the Sudoku Master II from RealDice is also good though I like the Sudoku Master I more. It's a personal choice though.

I love my BlackBerry/CrackBerry and will fight anyone who says different.
