Just getting started in the world of IM. I elected to go with Y! messenger as the standard for the family and decided to try IM+ for my 7100g (Cingular) on BES. Everything seems to be running smoothly, except for the fact that I notice a lag in receiving incoming messages. I have changed the "server polling rate" to "1" under uptions. I assume that this means that IM+ does not run a push technology. To me, a 1 minute polling rate for IM seems to defeat the purpose. Can anyone tell me if Verichat or other options offer true "push" or a more configureable refresh rate?

Also, I notice in IM+ that there is no function to add contacts. Am I missing something? Do I need to log into my PC to manage contacts? Does Verichat allow this from my BB?

Verichat messages seem to be immediate and Verichat allows you to add Y! messenger contacts directly from the BB client.

This was a very unscientific study, so please feel free to post your own experiences if different.

For me, this seals the deal on using Verichat over IM+.

Have been using Causerie for a while now and just registered. Rock solid and great UI for their first vesion. Yes, it supports adding/deleting in their first version itself. Cannot wait to see what they will do in the next version. voip?
