Some of us Business folks with 4.1 software are left behind.

If you're referring to 4.2 OS for the 7100 series devices, then no, there won't be any more development.

As far as applications, many of the new applications are requiring 4.2 OS so, in that regard, in many cases you will be left behind here too.
