Default Spellcheck Recommendations - 10-08-2007, 02:28 PM

Anyone have recommendations on a Spellcheck utility for the 8100? Are there any out there that don't use a Internet session to check the words?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Moved to aftermarket software.

But that uses an internet connection, right?

LexSpell is a good one. It's free, but you'll get a nag screen every once in a while. You can pay for it to remove the nag screen, but other than that, it's unlimited.

I'm using Empower's InstaSpell right now and really like it. InstaSpell underlines and highlights misspelled words in red in e-mails and underlines (no highlighting) in other text entry locations.

Neither of these uses the internet to check your spelling.

GDPMumin,

Just installed LexSpell.....question... do you know if you can auto-enable the spell-check when sending an email? Meaning, it won't send until it's checked?

I made the switch to InstaSpell a few weeks ago and, although I can't remember exactly, I think Dawg is right. You have to start the spell check in LexSpell manually.

Check out this:
Review: LexSpell Spelling Checker v. 2.0 For BlackBerry | BerryReview

And this
Empower InstaSpell Version 1.0 Released - Inline Spellcheck as you type | BerryReview

I personally use InstaSpell due to the inline spellcheck but LexSpell has a free version with a registration nag screen

Don
eSpell has both inline and after typing spell check option, that you can switch between.

Yes, that's true with your most recent release. I forgot to mention that when I suggested eSpell as an alternative.

I also use LexSpell. It does work great. You have to remember to check the document, but I don't mind that at all. Sometimes I prefer it that way.

JMO, instead of posting the same thing in 3 old threads, and bumping them in the process, it would have been better to make one post in a new thread to ask your question.

I am getting the same message that it's outdated, but I haven't tried to re-install it. Maybe the vendor is having some technical issues. Did you try contacting their support?

LexSpell 2.1 is now on the BEIKS website, go and get it.

Takes care of the outdated message (for now) and adds automatic proofing to outgoing emails...to registered users.

Come on, they paid for it, after all...it's only fair to have it.
