So to sort personal and business contacts, i have to check the "personal" checkbox in the "filter" option on my BB. Is there a way to get to those checkboxes for contacts within Outlook? Thanks in advance!

Yes.

Open one of the contacts in Outlook and look for the "Categories" button on the bottom right. Click that button and you'll see all the checkboxes.

Sorry, I don't see a categories button. I have Outlook 2007 if that matters. The only categories option I see is to select different colors.

Hmmm...I'm using Outlook 2003. For 2007 you click on Categorize, then go to the bottom for 'All Categories' (working from memory here....). Then you get a pop up box with the checkboxes.

I have Outlook 2007 and the only options for categories I see are the colors, even when I do what you just said.

Interesting. I looked at one Outlook 2007 on one of our Email Admin's PC's and that's how I found the boxes. I wonder if there is an Option somewhere to be able to see those....

Could that option be available with Business Contact Manager only? I'm not using that. I can't see any other options for categories anywhere, but it's certainly possible I missed something.

Same problem here... when I got to "all categories" all I see are the color choices.

I'm pretty sure there should be an option for this somewhere because the contacts that I filter as "personal" on my BB reflects on my contacts in outlook.

Check it out... When I go to categories in Outlook on a contact whom I've selected as "personal" on my BB, it has the "personal" category checked, but shaded so I can't edit it (as well as the fact that it says "not in master category list". Any of the other contacts doesn't have this "personal" category as an option. Is this something I need to set up?

How do I get "personal" to be an option for all/any contacts?
