View Full Version : My Own BES and ATT Plans - Can I get the Cheaper Plan?

I run my own BES/Exchange server setup at home to sync my Exchange mailbox with my Blackberry, and it works great. Now I am wondering if I actually need to be using the around $44/month Blackberry package, or if I can switch to the plain vanilla data plan at $19.99/month without losing any sync functionality between home and my bberry.

Anyone know? I'd call ATT, but I don't get much time to make phone calls, so its easier to just ask here. I'd still be on hold now if I called them.

Anyway, off to work Let me know if you know what will happen if I switch.

Thx,

JohnG

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

If you are using BES to my knowledge you will have to keep the Enterprise BB plan at the least the 29.99 BB plan

That's correct. Without the BES plan you don't even get the option for Enterprise Activation on the BB.

ok, so I cannot go super cheap, but at least I don't have to pay for BES/Exchange Hosting. I'll check into the $30 plan to make sure ATT has it.

Thanks!
