It should support EVDO out of the box. But if it doesnt, the upgrade is not hard and only requires about 20-30 minutes.

ok so... i am blackberry illiterate and am going with the 7250 because i like how big it is(can't lose it) but i know nothing about BB's at all so is this something that i could do myself?

Thanks, Brandon

You shouldn't have to upgrade considering that the now OS has been out for quite some time now. I think it was originally release in 3Q-4Q 2006. If you're buying it in the store I would make sure they do it for you before you even leave. When you power on the phone you should se 1XEV right next to the signal meter on the top right side of the screen.

when i looked at the display model that they had in the store it only said 1X right next to the signal meter.
