How do you surf the internet on an 8700g? Am sure it's possible but with the latest OS, I can't find the program on the main menu?

When I go to settings/advanced options/browser

it just says: "default configuration:" and nothing else, with no option to change it.

Do you have a Blackberry Data Plan? You have to have a data plan. No data plan, no BB Browser.

Is the BB new? Is it used? If it's used it's possible that it has IT policy on it restricting use of the browser. You can look in Options >Security Options >General Settings and scroll to the bottom. Look for any reference to "IT Policy."

What are the options for removing the IT policy?

Does wiping the device mean you just have to re-set up email options or do you have no IMEI/PIN etc?

Read the FAQ again. The answers are there. Wiping means you wipe/erase all the data off the BB and start fresh.

With my old 7105 and my old 8100 I was not able to erase the security policy by jsut wiping. I had to load a dummy security policy to get rid of it. The instructions Unlocking the Blackberry (http://blackberry.ig3.net/) there have worked for both my 7105 and 8100.

We have that same procedure in a sticky here. I created it when that site went down for a while and also some were concerned about where the policy.bin came from. I created a new policy.bin and rewrote the instructions and put it in a sticky here.

That is why I said DATA, and to read the FAQ.

Unlocking the Blackberry (http://blackberry.ig3.net/)

that is quite a misnomer, not unlocking at all... but really not important anyway.
