Hi, just got off the phone with TMobile, they said there's some sort of outage at RIM right now. It seems spotty as some people are working according to the BES, some aren't. Are any of you experiencing problems?

I'm on the BWC and I have mail in my inbox but no forwarding to my handheld.
Cannot send PIN messages either.

Do T-Mobile have a network status page on the web or are we supposed to go through the customer care maze of options?

RIM stated to me just minutes ago that there was no ETA on a resolution. They are calling it a 'temporary interruption in service' - it is atleast North American customers. Sporadic or no emails being delivered to users here.

This is a similar message I got from RIM....

We have discovered that the BlackBerry outage affects all types of BlackBerry and is a RIM (Research In Motion) issue, not a provider-specific issue. RIM is investigating the situation and should soon provide us an estimated time when repairs will be completed.

We will keep you informed as we get additional information.

I just got an e-mail notification from one of our division helpdesks that they've been on the phone with RIM and there is no ETA on the solution. RIM is aware of it.

My Nextel phone continues to work fine.

half users are working, half are not. no rhyme or reason, not carrier specific.

Looks like full connectivity is back, at least for now. Anyone have any ideas of what happened?

Our connectivity is back for about 90% of our users. The others I'm sure are either still not working, have their phones off, or simply need to reboot their handhelds.

I'm still down here in NJ- rebooted, etc. Just have to wait my turn, I guess.

AP wire is carrying a brief story about the outage... affected all carriers today between about 8:15 and noon EDT. Times correspond pretty well to my personal experience.

Amazingly uninformative story from AP, very much like this post.

Anyone out there know what the deal was?

Lightning? Al Qaeda? Klingons? Republicans?
