I recently added a 1gb media card to my BB8830; the device recognizes that a media card is installed.

However, when I seek to download webstie video from, for example, CNN's Mobile site, the video doesn't play and my device claims it is too large.

This surprises me as I thought the video feed from a "mobile" website location would be tailored to be of sufficiently small size that it would download and play on a BB device (with media card). Is the answer that I need a larger Media card? The media card claims several hours of video are storable on the card, so I do not understand why a 5 minute internet video won't play.

Thanks for any assistance, Kenno

When clicking on the video have you tried saving it, instead of opening it? I'm not completely sure about this, but if you select "open" it may load the video into a temporary file on the phone's memory. If you click "save" it will allow you to save the video to the memory card.

Since the memory card is only available for media (videos and music) I don't believe the blackberry can use it for any system functions (applications, messages, etc) which would include "streaming" video. So basically, the memory card won't help you if your phone's memory is full, unless you're able to offload pictures, videos, music or other media items off the phone memory onto the card.

Hope this is accurate. I'm sure others with chime in

It will save to your media card or you can open directly from browser. Are you using the mobile site on your bb browser?? That's important because NOT every video can be saved.
