Can anyone tell me the differences in these two BB models? I'm trying to replace a coffee-soaked Nextel 7250 and wondered if a 7520 would work?

Welcome to the forums.

First off, the 7250 is not a Nextel device, it's a CDMA device, which would make it either Sprint or Verizon.

Yes, a 7520 would work, but you would have to switch to Nextel (iDEN). Personally, I wouldn't go that direction since the 7520 is a discontinued model with Nextel..... Not to mention iDEN is the slowest network there is.

If you have to replace your 7250, and are on Sprint, I'd recommend the 8830...or you could wait a couple of weeks to Black Friday and go with Sprint new Pearl.

Thanks for the info. Evidently I got the wrong model number from the user (don't have phone in hand). The dead BB is definitely a Nextel and the user insists on the old style, full qwerty keyboard. Trying to locate replacement since Nextel (Sprint) doesn't carry this model any more. How dumb is it to have two models with dyslectic numbers and how uninformed are the CSRs at the store I called.

That's why you come here to get help ;-)

For replacement of a 7520, you may be stuck with eBay....but I still recommend the 8830...MUCH nicer device. Unless they insist on having Direct Connect....then you're stuck.

I strongly agree. The 72xx/75xx models are on their way out. My first two bbs were the 7510 and then the 7250. I did not like the attena on the 7510/20 model.

Ebay or even Craigslist. Sprint might replace it depending on what insurance if any the user might have.
