When ever I charge my 8830, it freezes up, and I have to reset it. So this means I can't charge it while driving because it will freeze and will not receive calls. Sometimes the screen will be dimly lit, but blank. The only way it charges properly is if I turn the unit off.

What could be the problem?? My wife can charge hers while the unit is on without any problems.

Go to Options - Status.

How much free memory do you have before you have to unfreeze your device?

Well it says I have 10304929 bytes next to file free. If I charge it right now there is a 90% chance that it will freeze up and stop taking calls.

Again, this is not the available memory you have after you reboot your device.

Another possibility is that you are leaving other applications on.

Click Alt-ESC and make sure you close any unneeded apps. You cannot close your phone, messenger or browser.

Looks like having applications open while charging was the culprit. Thanks for you help!!
