Which is terrible of course. I've tried everything but opening it up. The button started going flaky for a week and then just stop responding.

Anyways, i can almost still use the phone, that is until I decided to go into some options where menus don't offer a close option... which i can only get around by taking the battery out. I know that nuts.

Anyways. while I search ebay for a replacement 8700g, Does anybody know how to kill open applications so I can get around this in the mean time.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

If the scroll wheel still works you could press that to bring up the menu and then chose close. What I would do is set either the front or side convenience key to bring up the application switcher, then you could switch to that program and then use the trackwheel method to close it.
