88xx is awesome!

I would recommend the 8820 as it is newer and has more features. The 87xx devices are solid, but I believe the 88xx devices will (if they haven't already) become the new business standard for BlackBerrys.

Since there's no such thing as an 8710... I's say the 8820 is a better choice. ;-)

Depends upon what you need the device to do and what features do you want it to have. Can you enlighten us a bit more?

Unless you meant to say 8820 vs. 8310. Then it just depends on if you want built in wifi (8820) or built in GPS (8310.)

I was told that ATT 8820 has both GPS and WiFi.

I think John meant to say Camera instead of GPS in reference to the 8310.
Both have GPS.

8310 = Camera + GPS
8820 = WiFi + GPS

IMHO, 3rd party apps are a personal preference. I don't use a lot. Currently have PocketDay, LexSpell, BBMaps and GoogleMaps on my 8800.

Probably the best thing for you to do is go look and see what is out there. Handango.com is a good source, just make sure you specify which BB device you have. RIM also has a section on Software and there is also a section here in the forums on Aftermarket applications. Check thoe out and it will give you a lot of ideas on what is out there.
