Sun, beach, desert, SAND!

I am planning to spend some time in a very sunny and sandy place. Part beach, part desert. Of course the Berry is coming with me. So far I have decided to carry it in a Ziploc bag, but I wonder if the forum would have any opinion on this issue. Is a Ziploc bag enough protection? Too much? Could the phone overheat inside the bag? Thanks for any input.
