Messages pushed to blackberry get marked as read

On a BES, only one user affected. Is this a setting in Outlook or on the device?

Message will be marked as unread on the blackberry, but I can watch it sit as unread in Outlook until my berry gets it, then it will be marked as read. I have searched extensively and can't find a setting, is it something that is obvious that most people know about or is it something more complex?

So, the user receives an email in Outlook and it shows as Unread. When it arrives on the BB it then shows as Read in Outlook.

Is this correct?

What version of BES and how many users?
Version of MAPI32.dll on both the BES and Exchange Server

Try switching BB's for the user and activate his for a test user. See if the issue follows the BB or user.

Could the user receive it on the BB first, maybe open and then it reconciles with Outlook?

Often times these issues are caused by the user and not realizing it.

Is the issue easily reproducible?

Reconciliation issues are usually caused by the BB and not the BES, except in rare cases.

Try that first.

I'm having this same problem. Email arrives in Outlook. Redirected to my 8310, and then shows as "read" in Outlook, which causes me all kinds of grief. Has anyone figured out what setting needs to be changed?
