I have the 8830 VZ phone and from tinkering around here I am finally grasping the fact there is no fast fix to this ringer problem. So with the help from everyone I am also starting to grasp this whole downloading/ minirington/audacity thing. My question is....

1. Because I am simply looking for a tone (not music) and have no problems with the preloaded ringers on my system (other than the volume) is there a way to get a preloaded ringer from my phone into one of these miniringtone/ audacity programs to enhance and if not.....

2. Which is the better result when you download the mp3 or wav file? (I think it was wav...I did look that up in FAQ section and if I'm wrong I will re-look)

It would just make it simple and add some newer LOUD ringtones. Look here, I have saved some very loud ringtones.

It would just make it simple and add some newer LOUD ringtones. Look here, I have saved some very loud ringtones.

Thanks JSanders. I'm going to download several of those. Especially the LOUD ringtone. It will be very useful when in my truck. (y)

One other question. How did you come up with that website name? :razz:

JSanders -I appreciate the rings and there are a few I would download but without sounding completely stupid......how do I get those to my phone? They will play in Real Player but I can't get them to "save" so I can transfer.

a. Go to that website from your BB browser, click on the ones you want, it will play, and you click menu to SAVE. Done.
or
b. Download to your PC, then hook up your BB via USB and move to your SD card (preferred place for extra ringtones. Not the device memory.
