Hello,

I know that you must have os 4.3 for BB support.
But i got mine to work. I can see movies, film clips, pictures. no problems.
But when it comes to music, i can’t listen to them. length of all songs are 00:00min
And they won’t play.

So i just wonder if anyone else got this issue. Or, if it works fine for you?

Thats pretty good if you got the pictures to work. I use my 2gb mostly for this. If others confirm that this is true, maybe i will go with 6 or 8.

Your 8830 will support a 4G micro card but not a 6 or 8 just yet. That should be supported when the new OS version comes out in hopefully the first Q of 08

I have the 8820 with a 6GB microSD card and it does show up correctly and the memory about is around 5.67GB so I know its recognized. Based on this thread should it not be showing up, will I run into issues?

Based on this thread should it not be showing up, will I run into issues?Your challenge will be getting files onto the card "and" then having the 6GB recognized by the BB Media player to play those MP3s!!!

If you can do that, PLEASE let us know!

It will be very useful to know what size of microSD will work on which platform (4.2 vs 4.3) for the 8830, such as a reference table. It seems that people's SD cards do not always work on their 8830s.

Hello all
I am using 4.3 (4.2.2.169 is what the bb8830 says in the "about" of "options")
I have been trying to get a 6gb sdhc to work.
If i format the 6gb sdhc (as fat32) from my PC the blackberry sees 5.56gb total space.
but I can only load up to 1.7gb before the blackberry errors.
If i format the 6gb sdhc card in the blackberry it will only format it as 1.8gb.

Has anyone else noticed the formating discrepancy?

Have the same problem as you, I'm using an 8800 with a 6GB SanDisk HC card this won't be fixed until newer version of the O/S comes out, pretty much a waiting game from here.

I received my Sandisk 8gb cards last week, put them in my bb's(8820 and two 8830's) work like a charm, no problems.

Unless you have an early/beta of OS 4.3... I don't think so.

I am trying to install an SD in my 8830. The phone will not recognize the existence of the card. I've tried 3 different cards of different capacities. Any ideas on what's going on?
