GIF backgrounds

I just updated to the 4.2 OS. im useing the Vzw 8703e. I uploaded some gif images. Can they be used as background images and still move? because as of right now when i open them in the picture folder, they move. I would like a moving background pic for my BB. Is this possible or do i need something else.

Animated gifs don't work as a wallpaper

dammit that sucks. is there anything i can use to have a animated wallpaper as a background. I hate looking at still img. Even my psp has a moving one.
