I currently purchased a used 7100i. I do not have the internet on my account (Work phone). I merely would like to use the phone for date book and contacts. I have downloaded the drivers from the nextel website. downloaded desktop mgr 4.2 w/ ser pk 2 from the blackberry website. I am running windows VISTA BASIC. The problem I am having is this:

1. Windows is asking for a bluetooth driver update. Saying there is a conflict between vista and the unk. bluetooth device. I have looked on the blackberry site and the nextel site. does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do??? I did not install any software w/ the phone connected. In the device manager it only shows an unk. bluetooth device. windows is not recognizing that it is the 7100i.

2. With Vista basic there is not an outlook calender. I believe they upgraded and now call it "Windows Calender". However, I am not given an option to sync with this calender. My contacts did download from the phone to windows. There is also a sync center with vista, but the device is not recognized there.

If anyone has experienced the same problems and came up with the solution, please let me know. If you have any suggestions, please help. Thanks in advance

sorry I forgot to mention that i had initially installed desktop 4.3 initially, however nextel advised me that 4.3 would not support or work well with vista and had me uninstall it and install 4.2 sp2

Well 4.3 does have some bugs but does work fine with Vista.
