Did anyone notice TMO has Handheld Software Version (4.0.2.32) dated 06/29/05 up?

Yup.... Just downloaded it from T-Mo...

Had it for a couple of days. No problems since I got it, but I can't tell you specifically what has changed. There should also be new code for the 7100t.

The calculator is different....

After playing with it for a few days here are my thoughts...

Most everything is same old, same old. MAJOR improvements are the Calculator and I have noticed I no longer get fail to open tunnel errors. I use BBWeather and before I would always get an error after rebooting the device. I would go in to BBWeather to update and on the Forecast screen I would always get the error (just once). Now even after rebooting it cooks along and works like a charm!

I wish they would have addresses the low ring volume issue. Maybe add an extra high option..... The unit is running great with the new software and it is well worth the upgrade for the Calculator and the apparent fix for the 'tunnel error' problem....

I noticed the new snappiness also. Where as I like the new calc I hate it broke PD. Tough trying to decide if I should go back or not.

Look in Mark's big 4.0 sticky thread in the General Discussion area. Every BlackBerry model; every carrier.

Noticed another new feature.. It's a missed call indicator. It puts a small phone icon next to and above the signal strength meter... Sweeeeeeeet!!!!!

One feature I just noticed is under Date/Time, you can now choose where your BlackBerry gets the time from. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to change the timezone, I'll see what happens the next time I'm out of town.

Maybe it's new for T-mobile's release, but I have a Cingular 7290 and mine has always shown the little phone when a call was missed.

On another note, anyone played around with the "BlackBerry Messenger" that's included in this release?

No, this thread is about ver 4.0.2.32 that T-Mobile released.

It might just be new for t-mo then because when I changed over from a 7100 to the 7290 that was the only thing I did not like about the 7290. After downloading the new software I was out washing my car, came in and noticed the little phone icon.... Yahoooooie....!!!

I did / do not see a BlackBerry Messenger with the new software...

It just seems like Cingular devices with the TMobile firmware have the BlackBerry Messenger. If you go to http://www.blackberry.com/messenger, it brings you to a beta site.

Has anyone tried this on a Nextel 7520? I'm not sure if it would work w/ our DC feature.

gages,

i installed on my Cingular 7290 also. You need to go to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
and delete the Vendor.xml file.

Relaunch your Desktop Manager and the program should start installing once you click on Application Loader

There are direct links in the BlackBerryOS 4.0 Upgrade thread. Look on the last page. (If you can't find it, click the FAQ link below first and go to the thread that way)

Login to your My T-Mobile account, and you can download free Instant Messenger software for your T-Mobile 7290. The IM software was NOT included in the 4.02.32 software.
