BlackBerry Curve 8310, need message help please and APPS

Hi,

I just got an 8310. I have my work email set up on it.
My SMS txt messages used to be available through the mail icon on the main interface. Now mail is using that. I want my mail and txt separate so I "separated" them via Options, but is there a way for me to have a different icon on the main interface - one for each - so I don't have to access txt messages through mail folders?

Also, anyone know good APPS for AIM or similar?

when you seperate them it should add an icon for SMS/MMS messages next to your other messages folder

Yes, if you have separated your SMS out of the main message folder at Messages > Options > General Options > SMS and Email Inboxes = Separate, then you SHOULD have a distinct separate SMS message box icon.

Is it hidden? On the Homescreen, press menu to SHOW ALL.

found it. I had to change THEMES to see the additional icon.
